Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. It teaches the students to connect the mind and body through fluid dance movements. Contemporary dancers focus on floor work, using gravity to pull them down to the floor.

At Accent we have exam classes under the Australian Teachers of Dancing Syllabi and more general contemporary classes as well. Get in touch with us today to find out which class would suit you more or click the button below to enrol now!

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a beautifully expressive style allowing dances to "feel" the music and move to the intentions of the lyrics. Through lyrical dance, many emotions are explored, experienced and portrayed through movement and it is a great outlet for dancers. Lyrical movement styles are often, but not limited to, fluid, graceful and continuous with an emphasis on creating an emotional connection with the audience.
